PRESCHOOL PROGRAM
GOALS In the preschool program children will be challenged in all areas of development. Each teacher will plan fun and exciting activities for the children to develop their learning and developmental skills. These skills include: Using the washroom unassisted. Sleeping on cots during sleep time. Use proper utensils for eating. Able to independently get dressed and undressed. Identify own name and other letters of the alphabet. Match colours. Count to 10. Identifiy shapes. Identify on, over, under, beside, soft, hard, hot, cold. Participate through circle. Cooperatively take turns. Interact with peers in a positive manner. Identify the seasonal weather elements.

PARENT RESPONSIBLITIES Provide one extra, clearly labeled seasonal change of clothes. Sleep time blanket and/or soft toy to be left at school. Soiled clothes will be sent home in a plastic bag on a daily basis. Open communication with teachers via email or talking to teachers at the beginning or end of each day. To take home artwork on a daily basis. Each child needs to have a large backpack to bring back and forth their school work - this backpack should be big enough to fit several pieces of 8.5x11 pieces of paper. Each child needs to have a pair of indoor shoes to be left at school - Velco or slip on will encourage independent learning at this stage.

WE PROVIDE Age appropriate activities including games, puzzles, creative activities, science centres, dramatic play, sensory activities, group and independent learning times, gross motor activities and free play toys Nutritional meal and snacks with age appropriate eating utensils. Washing all bed linens on a weekly basis or as needed. A safe and bright environment that enhances learning. Accessible to children with special needs. Toys will be washed on a regular basis.
